Licensed electricians are highly trained skilled tradesmen. In Georgia, electricians are required to work under a licensed electrical contractor for a minimum of four years in order to be eligible to take a written test for state licensing. This test is extensive, requiring vast knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), as well as other local building codes and laws. Licensed electricians must perform continuing education classes to renew their license each year.
Licensed electricians are held to a higher standard, therefore providing you with a higher quality, safe, and efficient job. Many people advertise they perform electrical work, but they are unlicensed and under-educated. When not performed properly, electrical work can cause fires, injuries, and even kill people. Protect yourself, your family, your employees, and your property. Only hire licensed and insured contractors to perform electrical work.
We have a minimum service call/diagnostic fee of $149. Included in this fee is travel time and labor to diagnose the problem. Price does not include any materials. Once we determine what needs to be done to perform actual repair(s), we will give you exact pricing. It's impossible for us to diagnose specific problems over the phone.
Our normal hours of operation and standard charge out rates apply to Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm. We will take exception for these hours of operation if you have an emergency or require different work times for your project. Leave us a message if someone doesn't answer your call and we will get back to you ASAP.
We provide free estimates for large projects. For smaller repair jobs and service calls (when we have to send a technician), a service call/diagnostic fee will be the minimum amount charged.
Unplug cords immediately and turn off circuit breakers/fuses feeding the circuit. Call us to schedule a service call.
Look around your home or business for GFCI receptacles. These receptacles have a test and a reset button on them. Make sure any and all GFCI receptacles are not tripped. If you find one that is tripped, press reset button firmly. (You may have to unplug all cords from receptacles in order to reset). Check other receptacles to see if they are working. If this does not work, call us to schedule a service call. It could be a wiring issue or a defective GFCI receptacle.
Turn off all circuit breakers including your main circuit breaker/disconnect (sometimes located outside next to your electric meter). Call us ASAP to schedule a service call. This is a very dangerous situation, usually consisting of a defective, loose, or burnt connection in your main electrical service or power company service conductors.
Yes. This is not a normal sound, and should be diagnosed and repaired immediately. Turn off any suspicious loads and call us to schedule a service call.
We can install a subpanel, if your existing service will handle additional load. We can also perform what is called a service upgrade in order to provide you with additional spaces in your electrical panel along with enough ampacity to safely handle your loads.
This can be caused by a number of things. Inexpensive light bulbs, over exceeding maximum wattage rating of light fixtures, loose connections, and voltage surges from power company's lines. Scheduling us to perform a diagnosis and also installing a surge protector on incoming main electrical lines is recommended.
Yes. Most fuse boxes contain improperly sized over current protection for branch circuits, illegal double taps, and other unsafe wiring within. Call us to schedule replacement.
We accept cash, personal checks, and all major credit cards. All charges are due upon completion of work unless other arrangements have been made. For larger projects, payment terms may differ.
